Senior Living in Saskatchewan

Public housing options include the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation's government-subsidized rental housing for low-income seniors with services provided by Saskatchewan Assisted Living Services. Public special-care homes through local Regional Health Authorities serve seniors with care needs that cannot be met through other public housing options.

Private housing options include the Ministry of Health's Home Care Program. Home Care enables seniors to receive care at home rather than at a hospital or long-term facility. Seniors needing some assistance or supervision might consider a personal care home. Personal care homes are privately owned and operated and must be licensed to comply with The Personal Care Homes Act. Independent seniors may prefer retirement living. These enriched-living complexes provide private suites with amenities such as meals, housekeeping, and social activities.
