Be Thankful for Senior Care Options, Resources and Support

We’ve written many posts about how senior care has changed over the past few decades, and while areas of grave concern have also emerged (funding streams, regulatory compliance, elder abuse, Medicare fraud, etc.), there is great cause for gratitude when it comes to options, resources, and support available to caregivers today.

Although a lot of senior care decisions ultimately come down to what families and individuals can afford, going to a nursing home or an extended hospital stay aren’t the only choices. Now, consumers can select from home care, hospice, assisted living, senior apartments, urban villages, Alzheimer’s care, retrofitted independent living complexes…and the list continues to grow.

Of course, the explosion of the world wide web means there are a plethora of resources available to caregivers around the world, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Sometimes, information overload can be overwhelming. Just knowing where to start and determining what sites are trustworthy is a challenge when you’re looking at thousands of results returned, but it’s better than having nothing at all (for starters, check out our compilation of the top 100 sites for seniors and boomers).

Caring for a senior isn’t always easy, but there are countless professionals and providers ready, willing and able to support you through the experience, and for that we can all be thankful.

Happy Thanksgiving from the team at SeniorsforLiving.com. We are glad to be a resource and thankful for our faithful friends and followers! Have a safe and enjoyable holiday with your loved ones.
