By Michelle Seitzer / Posted on 04 October 2011

Released in September, a new survey from The Bankers Life and Casualty Company’s Center for Secure Retirement & Sperling’s Best Places mapped out the best cities for seniors. You may be surprised by the results: not a single Florida city found its way to the final 25.

Explore these providers located in/near the top 10…

Minneapolis, Minnesota: Caregivers from Home Care Assistance of Minneapolis are trained to provide round-the-clock services (primarily non-medical) for seniors who want to age in place at home.

Boston, Massachusetts: Just ten minutes outside of Boston, Atria Marina Place is a beautiful, seaside community offering various levels of care.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: Operated by Brookdale Senior Living, find housing & services at The Devonshire of Mt. Lebanon.

Cleveland, Ohio: Assisted living, Alzheimer’s care and skilled nursing is available at the Homewood Residence at Richmond Heights.

Denver, Colorado: Reside in luxury apartments at Oakhurst Towers, in the South Hampton region of Denver.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin: Head south from Milwaukee to consider housing and care at Hickory Park Independent & Assisted Living in Greenfield.

San Francisco, California: Check out Vintage Coventry assisted living and Alzheimer’s care.

Portland, Oregon: Russellville Park is a Leisure Care-operated community in Portland’s Gateway district.

Kansas City, Missouri: In the heart of Kansas City’s Northland, Wexford Place provides independent living options.

Newark, New Jersey: Located in close proximity to Newark, consider Brighton Gardens of West Orange, a Sunrise Senior Living home.
