Tennessee Amigos Win the Over-65 National Basketball Title
We’re always up for a good story about seniors doing things that are unexpected, and when the unexpected involves basketball, that just makes it all the better.
The Tennessee Amigos are a women’s age 65 and older basketball team. They are the 2009 National Senior Games Champions and they sported hand-me-down uniforms from the University of Tennessee’s Lady Vols when they beat the Michigan Spirits 29-27 for the national title:
Congratulations to the Tennessee Amigos!
I was going to say that I hope I’m that active when I’m their age, but when I thought about it, I’m probably not that active now. Time to hit the basketball court!

Exercise for older adults is essential for a good overall health. These women work hard, and have fun- that is what exercise should be about!
Everyone should strive for my activity in their lives, especially sports like basketball or tennis. The cardio workout can help prevent blood clots and help people that have diabetes. Good blood circulation also comes from active sports, which can benefit the body and heart.
Way to go ladies!!!
