Thanks, Breann and Kaye, for your great comments!

Breann, your volunteer work with a hospice pet visitation program sounds fascinating and very fulfilling. What's the name of the organization, if you don't mind me asking?

Kaye, I am sure that my parents would agree...they LOVE their grand-doggies! I can't say that Dad enjoys his itchy eyes and swollen sinuses after a visit from them, but he loves them just the same. :) Also loved the mental picture I got of the "sweet little look" and their entire bodies wiggling for a treat - in my house, that happens at least once a day!

Loved the article. I love dogs and cats, but I am allergic. I'm blessed that my kids took that into consideration and got dogs that have fur/hair that is less allergic-causing. When they look at me with that sweet little look and wiggle their whole bodies for another biscuit, this grandma just melts! :) It's encouraging to know that my grand-doggies can also be so good for my health in other ways. :)

I volunteer with a hospice pet visitation program. It is amazing how many people respond to pets that otherwise would struggle to interact. Pets truly love us for who we are and dont expect anything out of us other than love back. Pet therapy is such a great thing to introduce seniors to.
