It’s a great idea! I’m trying to get the CEO of our nursing home to build one. Our seniors need to excerise more and get out and have fun. I think we will see more senior playgrounds in the future.

If I wanted to see seniors playing on a jungle gym, I just would go to one of my many family reunions.

These playgrounds look fascinating to me. I always loved them as a kid — especially the swings! — but now feel I can only use them if a playground is completely empty and no one is looking, or if I have a grandchild with me. How wonderful it would be if senior adult playgrounds were built all over! Bushes could surround the park for privacy, and we could all get the activity we need without even thinking about the word “exercise”!!!

Great idea. I wonder if these yards have been marketed to active senior communities or if the equipment can be used indoors. Sad that seniors may be embarrassed to experience this–I have all the more respect for those who are willing to try.

Very interesting article. I have to admit, I’d probably be too shy to exercise at the senior playground, yet you can often find me running around playing tag with my 3 grandsons at the regular playground. I know, totally illogical in many respects Have fun with the blog party!
